1. Overview
This policy explains how ExamScroll handles your personal data, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the IT Act, 2000. We never sell your personal data.
2. Information we collect
Account: your name, email address and profile photo from Google Sign-In.
Study preferences: exams, subjects, learning goals, exam date and feed filters you choose.
Learning activity: lessons watched and completed, playback position and speed, quiz and mock-test answers, streaks, XP, saved lessons and folders, notes, follows, likes, comments, reports and feedback.
Device and technical data: browser/device type, approximate time zone, push-notification tokens (only if you enable reminders), and basic logs needed to keep the service secure.
Local storage: some settings (theme, device-local progress, downloaded lessons) are stored on your device only.
3. How we use it
To run the App and sync your progress across devices; personalise your feed and study plan; show leaderboards (display name and scores only); send reminders you turned on; moderate comments and keep the community safe; fix bugs and improve lessons using aggregated statistics; and meet legal obligations.
5. Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the App (cloud hosting and database, authentication, push notifications, AI processing), under confidentiality obligations; when required by law or a valid government request; or to protect users' safety. Your display name, comments and leaderboard scores are visible to other signed-in learners.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember settings. We do not use advertising cookies.
7. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we erase or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by row-level security so learners can only read their own private data, and lesson media is served through short-lived signed links. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
9. Your rights
You can access and edit most of your data in the App (Prep settings, notes, saved lessons). You can also ask us to provide, correct or erase your data, withdraw consent, or nominate someone to act for you, by emailing Simpledailyplanner26@gmail.com.
10. Children
ExamScroll is not meant for children under 13. Users aged 13–17 should use it with a parent's or guardian's consent. If we learn we've collected data from a child without consent, we'll delete it.
11. Transfers
Our service providers may store data on servers outside India. We take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected.
